You've found yourself in Melbourne on a Sunday and you're wondering what to do. When there's too much to choose from, you don't... You let randoms on the internet decide.
1/5 Get To A Market
Yes you might be tired, but it’s time to lock in. We are telling you the top 5 things to do IN ORDER (thank us later).
Melbourne does markets properly. Think fresh produce, vintage galore, damn good food and even better coffee.
Head to South Melbourne Market and grab:
- A coffee that’ll cure whatever you’re going through right now
- A pastry that you didn’t budget for
- A little nick-nack that you absolutely don’t need
Â
Extra points if you got a park within the first 5mins (you’re a star!).

2/5 Hit The Bathhouse
By the time you’ve elbowed your way through the market and had 3 Nonnas yell at you to get your tomatoes cheap, you’ll be just about ready for zen.
So you recalibrate.
You book into Sense Of Self and trade the noise for steam.Â
You move slowly between hot and cold pools. You let your shoulders sag and your hands and toes get super wrinkly.
Maybe you add a facial. Maybe you just soak. You’ll leave glowing and a tad smug with yourself for having ticked off a wellness activity.Â
Its Melbourne baby, there’s a fine line between those who come for Revolver, and those who come for The Tan.
3/5 Eat & Drink Your Body Weight
We know you’re starving after soaking, it’s time to refuel.
Head to Melbourne Winery for their ‘Sunday At The Cellar’ offer. If you love value then you’ll love this.
Their Sunday Cellar sessions include:
Unlimited plates including seafood, pizzas, cheeses, and more.
20+ wines to taste
2-hour sessions
A live tiramisu station
Only $65 per person, you’ll be rolling or stumbling out but it’s so worth it.

4/5 Get Vintage Photobooth Pics
You’ve had a wine or seven, you’ve got liquid courage, it’s time for an impromptu photoshoot.
Stop by the Flinders St Station Photobooth.
The photobooth is black and white vintage vibes, its cash only, and its perfect to document your day.
Extra points because it’s a 1 minute walk from Melbourne Winery.
5/5 Slow Down At NGV
Slip into the National Gallery of Victoria.
Let’s slow the pace back down.
The best part? It’s free (for the permanent collection). which feels almost offensive considering how good it is. European masters. Contemporary installations. Fashion. Sculpture.
If there’s a major exhibition on, you can buy a ticket and make a moment of it. If not, the entrance alone is cool.
After a day of markets, steam rooms, shared plates and wine tastings, the NGV feels like the perfect final act.
Pat yourself on the back. You just completed the 5 must do things in Melbourne on a Sunday.
